Business Blogging is Revealing
Why is blogging for your small business so important? It gives people a real feel for who you are. It lets people see through all the corporate double-speak and gives visitors to your website a sense that you are a real person.
So many small businesses take so much time trying so hard to look professional. Business owners are at Staples and Office Depot constantly buying things to make themselves look like the “big guys”. Nothing wrong with that.
But don’t give up your biggest advantage over those “big guys”. Be yourself. Be a regular person. You probably have friends, family, and daily struggles in running your business.
Write a little about that. Write about new products or services you are offering. Write about some of your tough moments. Write about the people who you choose to do business with (your suppliers, vendors, etc). Write about why you stopped offering a certain product or service. Write about how you set your prices. Write about what you expect, what you hope, what you fear.
When people see that you are, well, just like them, they will be a lot more inclined to pick up the phone, make an appointment, buy your services, and order your products.
